SMC products are warrantied for the life of the product but does not cover 'normal wear and tear' from use during that time.

Any items sustaining damage or showing the following issues should be removed from service and inspected:

  • Dropped from sufficient height
  • Exposed to sufficient heat to alter its surface appearance
  • Bending, warping, distortion of any part
  • Cracks on any surface
  • Scratches/gouges of more than a superficial nature
  • Movement in parts that should be fixed

All items that are claimed to be defective must be returned under a pre-assigned CC Number and should include the following:

  • Name and part number of item (if known). MLN number if accessible (3-5 digit aphanumeric code stamped/lasered on product).
  • A detailed description of the conditions existing during use of the item during general use or prodcut failure.
  • Location and date of the original purchase. Date of failure/issue.
  • Copy of the original invoice or receipt if available.
  • Contact information.

Due to the complexity of some SMC prodcuts, if a main component has been damaged to the extent it is warped, twisted, or bent, the entire system is suspect to failure and REQUIRES inspection by the manufacturer (SMC).
As a result, replacement parts for these systems are not available without first sending them to SMC.

If during inspection the product or parts are determined to the cause of a manufacturer defect, SMC will replaced the necessary part(s) at no cost to the end user.

In the event that inspection determines that the damage is due to: misuse, overloading, unsafe configurations, neglect, or general negligence,  the replacement part(s) will be deemed unsafe to life use and not be returned to the user. If the user requires the part back for alternate purposes, the product will be marked and made available for return at the customers cost, and customer will hold all further liability in the event of use of the product.
